What happens when your little sister comes to visit you after a long time? ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE - that's what!!! Especially if the sister in question is a teenager going through one of those horrendous growing up phases in life - what with all the loud music, funky and sometimes totally weird fashion sense , going goo goo eyed over lanky band members and pop stars with over gelled hair and kohl lined eyes. Bah humbug!!!
My lil sister is the apple of my eye, a huge portion of my soul, my secret keeper and my best friend. But things can get a bit out of hand sometimes (understatement of the year) and we have our little spats - most of the time coz I fail to understand her and she thinks I'm a grouchy old cat (Which is partially true by the way)
But overall I cant imagine my life without her - she's so bubbly , and innocent and sweet and all things nice and good that it makes me believe that the world is not a bad place after all since it has so much good existing in people like her. I finally understand that I've become a bit cynical and world weary and bisect and dissect an emotion or a gesture a zillion times before I react to something and my responses are so Careful.. not spontaneous or random and very much the true me since I have accepted the Do's and dont's of the fake world we live in with its fake norms and social stigmas which binds us like invisible steel chains...
I digress .. what I was saying is that sometimes something like the re - entry of your drama queen , stubborn-as-a-mule-but-cute and utterly buttery lovable lil sister in your life is like a breath of fresh air and can give you some perspective , even if it is given with a pinch of salt or shall I say hair- pulling ... lol.
