This is an apology to Matt Taylor , an Astrophysicist who deserves our applause but was attacked by a group of delusional women. The Rosetta project accomplished a very impressive scientific feat
- they landed a bot on a comet by remote control, from millions of miles away.
This achievement will definitely help usher in a new era of
space exploration by teaching us how to exploit the raw materials
available in the solar system, which so far had been out of our reach. Plus,
the whole thing was so awesome!
Some self
proclaimed feminists found the shirt worn by Matt Taylor, Rosetta project
scientist, to be the most news worthy of it all. Taylor's shirt, designed by a
female friend, depicts a bunch of attractive, scantily clad women drawn from
comic books holding guns. (Who doesn’t love comics, by the way?) The so-called
feminists found this as sexual objectification of women and inappropriate. Some
even went as far as to say these designs seemed "pornographic".
Now don’t this sound
familiar, people? If a woman wore something and 'MEN' found it inappropriate or someone focused on what a woman was wearing and not her achievements,
what a hullaballoo it would have caused! This is what is rightfully called a giant leap backwards for the whole of womankind.
Feminism is all about Gender Equality and Breaking Barriers and Stigma. It doesn’t mean that what you
are fighting for - like the right to wear whatever you want, the right to
express yourself and your body image, etc. - are the same things that you take
away from someone else. Coming on equal terms is quite hard when the so-called
feminists stage such stunts.
I am a woman and a
feminist who stands for equality, and is against oppression, suppression and
sexism and I do not think that this intelligent man, Mr. Matt Taylor, did anything wrong. The fact that these group of women made such a attention
grabbing outburst which forced him to apologize to these 'Professional Victims"
(as one person termed them, and I think that's an epic description) , really saddens me and a whole lot of people - men and women alike.
This whole fiasco
makes women all over the world, especially true feminists, look bad. The whole outrageous drama was so lame; this is really a shame (didn’t mean for it to rhyme).
Everything aside, as a
woman, a true feminist, I would like to apologize to Matt Taylor . I'm sorry
for the unnecessary uproar that had happened. This group of radical feminists
DOES NOT represent all of us. I love your shirt, I think it's badass. It wasn’t
" sexually objectifying women" until these women depicted it to be
so. Only then the whole world thought about that angle. I regret the fact that
you had to apologize to this dictatorial ideology of a minority- you are the one who have been wronged. I wish your
friend good luck on the endeavor to create more designs of the same nature and I
wish women and men wear them and walk around to show our solidarity.
Feminists aren’t
men-haters. A woman wearing the same shirt wouldn’t have created uproar would
it? We have males also 'objectified' in our posters etc. - what of it?
Let's live and let
live people. It's a free world. Let's not make a mountain out of a molehill.
Appreciate the great deeds.
Vive ut vivas!!
